Knitting or Weaving?
But how can we know when fabric is knitted or woven? Knits have a looped texture and are stretchy while wovens which have a crispy and more rigid feel to them. If you pass the yarn/ threads, you can see that points are all connected to each other differently.
Technical aspects of fabric manufacture
There are also some technical differences between the way textile machinery are manufactured on knitting machines and weaving machines. It could also be that pieces of fabric can hold themselves together without having any seams or stitches, a characteristic that modern knitting machines share today. On the other side, Weaving machines makes visible seams there where threads combine to make fabric.
